1.  I have just bought a holiday home and am confused as to what cover I need?

If you have just bought your home and have not furnished it you will only need building coverage. You can add contents and liability coverage later. If your home is already furnished but you do not plan to rent it out, you will need building and contents coverage. If you have bought the property as an investment and intend to rent it out, you will need building, contents and liability coverage. [back to top]

3.  How much should I insure for?

The cover provided by the building and contents insurance is on a "new for old" basis and therefore the sum insured should be the cost of rebuilding the property and replacing the contents.  For buildings, the market price is normally higher than the rebuilding cost but can be used as such for insurance purposes. [back to top]

 

4.  Is immediate cover available?

Yes. Just follow the easy steps shown in the quotes section of our website. Once we receive your online quote request, we will review it and either confirm holding cover or request further information by e-mail, the same or next working day. Once we have all information needed, we can issue the policy immediately and you will have 2 weeks to pay the premium. Please note cover is not in force until you receive a copy of the policy. If you are completing and need proof of insurance urgently, we can normally issue the policy on the same working day after we have all information needed. [back to top]

 

5.  Who are the insurers?

Our scheme is underwritten by a panel of Syndicates of Lloyd's of London, thereby affording first class security. [back to top]

 

6.  Does the holiday home insurance cover holiday letting as well as private use?

Yes, the specialist insurance is tailored to protect you regardless of whether you let your holiday home commercially or use it as a second home for family and friends. [back to top]

 

7.  What are the policy excesses?

The excess is EUR 51 (BGN 100) for each loss or damage to your home, contents or liability claims. [back to top]

 

8.  What legal liability cover is available?

Claims for third party liability, i.e. claims from members of the public and also holidaymakers are covered for an indemnity of up to EUR 1 000 000 inclusive of legal costs and expenses. In litigious times this cover will protect you if for example a guest slips in the shower causing injury and decides to take legal action. [back to top]

 

9.  Does the public liability insurance cover the use of the swimming pool at my property?

Yes, the insurance covers liability claims arising from the usage of swimming pools. This is included when you purchase liability insurance and protects you in the event of an accident involving your swimming pool. [back to top]

 

10.  How do I make a claim?

In case of a claim, please contact us via phone or e-mail and describe the insurance event. If needed we will ask you to fill out the loss notification form and send it to us. [back to top]

 

11.  How can I pay for my policy?

Customers can either pay by credit/debit card via PayPal or by a bank transfer directly into QBE's Euro account. Please, use the following bank details:

12.  How do I cancel my policy?

You may cancel the policy at any time by telling us in writing that you want to cancel it. Where "you" involves more than one person, we will only cancel the policy when a written agreement is received from all persons named as the insured. We will refund to you the proportion of the premium for the remaining period of insurance or 90% of the annual premium whichever is less. [back to top]

 

13.  Can you insure more than one property?

Yes. We are used to insuring schedules of properties and for the larger risks we can offer special discounted rates. [back to top]

 

14.  How can I renew my policy?

Approximately 4 weeks before your policy expires, we will send you a renewal invitation by post or e-mail with details of how to renew and your new premium. Please note we do not send out 'full policy documents' each year, just renewal invitations. [back to top]

 

15.  How do I contact Bulgarian Insurance, give feedback?

Customers can contact us by letter, telephone or e-mail. We aim to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction and welcome any suggestions or feedback in relation to our products/services or website.
